The bottle bank in Rathcormac has once again been abused, as over the weekend, several bags of bottles were discarded and broken at the facility.
It is understood that the bottle banks themselves were full, and bottles were illegally dumped, with many smashed, at the bring site. The dumping incident is one of several witnessed across several bring sites in The Avondhu area in recent times.
Local councillor, William O’Leary, described the behaviour as ‘disgraceful’, stating that it shows ‘a complete disregard for the community that uses this site respectfully’.
