A popular and respected employee of ESB Networks in Fermoy, Breda Kennedy, has retired after 35 years dedicated service.

Breda was responsible for cleaning the ESB Networks offices in Fermoy and could always be relied upon to carry out her duties in a timely and efficient manner.

Office and outdoor staff from the company turned out in force last Friday night for Breda’s retirement party which was held in Lombard’s Bar, Fermoy.

Many tributes were paid to this unassuming woman who is an active member of Fermoy Pitch & Putt Club.

Responding to the kind words, Breda thanked her colleagues for their kindness and friendship over the years, she made a special point of acknowledging the support of her female colleagues, Angela Jordan, Martina O’Brien and Helen Mackessy.

She went on to thank ESB Networks officer, Joe Mescal and local supervisor, John Courtney for their presentations as well as the ESB Networks social committee who organised the party.

Her final acknowledgements were to Mag Keevers of Lombard’s Bar and her husband, former soccer player, Christy Kennedy.

Everyone wishes Breda a long and enjoyable retirement.
