In the wee hours of Saturday morning, more than 750 people will be stirring from their warm, comfortable beds to take part in Mitchelstown’s inaugural Darkness Into Light walk for Pieta House.

This is the largest community fundraising event in the country and it is the flagship fundraiser for Pieta House – the centre for the prevention of suicide and self-harm.

Taking place at 4.15am on Saturday, May 7 from Mitchelstown Leisure Centre for a 5km walk/run, this event promises to be one that will unite people from across the community.

Those taking part are asked to arrive at Mitchelstown Leisure Centre between 3am and 4am and parking is available in the car parks at Tesco, SuperValu, CBS and Lidl and the committee wish to thank management for making this parking available for the event.
