Eoghan Griffin believes there is a need for greater investment in cycling infrastructure in Mitchelstown.

Mitchelstown needs to seize the cycling boom but the council need to do more for improving the infrastructure available to cyclists, a local cyclist said. 

That’s the view of returning emigrant Eoghan Griffin, who has recently came home from Covid-19 blighted London, to work from home in Mitchelstown. 

Eoghan contacted The Avondhu following our article about the refusal by the County Council to provide standalone funding for cycle parking facilities. 

“I came back home in September and as I have no car I use my bike to get around. I found there were no bike racks in town to lock my bike safely so I was looking for a lamppost.”
