The CEIA (Cork’s Technology Network) held its AGM in Maryborough Hotel on February 12th, with executive guest speaker, Professor Barry O’Sullivan, who gave a presentation on ‘Artificial Intelligence: from Capacity to Regulation’.

The CEIA is an industry lead, non-profit association, representing high tech manufacturing and development organisations within the Cork region since 1984. This year sees the CEIA celebrating its 40th year in being, a success underpinned by the voluntary energies from people in industry, academia and regional/national agencies.

In the 40 years of the organisation, people have changed, companies have come and gone, the organisation has remained committed to both identifying those common interests and working together to address them. The CEIA continues to provide business briefings-conferences, STEM programmes and initiatives in peer learning, affording transfer of knowledge for High Tech Manufacturing & Development professionals, engineers, and students with an interest in working in ICT/MedTech, Science and Engineering sectors.

This commitment to supporting each other, as businesses wishing to succeed globally from Cork is something the organisation believes will continue to serve us well into the future. It remains an active and intimate network for senior managers within high tech manufacturing, supply chain and technology development domains.

The future for this industry remains exciting and challenging and the CEIA will continue to work towards ensuring Cork continues to be successful in meeting current and future industry demand.
