Cork County Council confirmed at a local council meeting earlier this week that the contentious pedestrian crossing situated on the centre of Fermoy’s Patrick Street will be removed when the road is resurfaced later in the year.
This will finally put an end to the matter, which has been a favourite topic of councillors at meetings in recent years, as well as ending the uncertainty caused to both drivers and pedestrians, at the busy crossing point in the centre of the town’s main street.
As always, Fermoy’s traffic was a topic of much discussion at Tuesday’s Municipal District meeting.
