Church Hill junction a danger to pedestrians

The junction of Church Hill and Lower Cork Street in Mitchelstown is proving a difficult one to navigate correctly for motorists, as well as being a hazard for pedestrians.

As drivers come down the hill, there are no lights or indications that the driver does not have the right of way to turn left when the ‘green man’ is flashing.

This means the drivers frequently turn left at the bottom of the hill, potentially into pedestrians who are crossing the road.
