Positive news may be on the horizon for Carrignavar as a letter issued to the Cobh Municipal District from Minister Darragh O’Brien’s office outlines that the matter ‘is receiving attention’.
The correspondence comes following a motion tabled by Watergrasshill Cllr Sheila O’Callaghan in relation to the matter at a previous meeting, in which she called for the district to write to the Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage, to release funding to ensure the progression of works at the waster water treatment plant (WWTP).
Carrignavar, according to locals and councillors within the district, has seen development ‘completely stagnated’ due to the lack of capacity at the local plant.
