There was a capacity attendance at Monday’s open night in Nagle Rice Secondary School, Doneraile.

The evening began with an address by principal, Brid Lysaght. In a wide ranging speech, Brid spoke about the significant investment the school has received, its excellent facilities, the optional Transition Year programme, child protection policy, special needs education, senior cycle and plans for the future, which include replacing existing toilets and construction of a new Astroturf.

“We continually strive to upgrade and enhance facilities at Nagle Rice Secondary School. In this regard, the Department of Education has been very good to us,” Brid said.

She also dealt in some detail with the school’s commitment to inclusion and integration.
