Fermoy Community Youth Centre this week announced that it was suspending its popular weekly bingo session for the foreseeable future, due to Covid-19 and associated health concerns.
In a posting on social media, the Community Centre stressed that the decision was not made lightly, but followed ‘contact from members of the medical profession,’ and was in the interest of safety for the public, customers and staff.
However, speaking to The Avondhu, Kieran Barry, manager with Fermoy Community Youth Centre, stressed that while bingo had been cancelled, the vast majority of other classes, training sessions, and events scheduled to go ahead in the Centre would still take place.
