Big occasion for Blackwater Search & Rescue

Blackwater Sub Aqua Search & Rescue Unit officially opened their new storage depot and boat house last Sunday. It was the latest chapter in a story that started in 1981/82. 

Since that time, the rescue unit has gone from strength to strength, due in the first instance to the dedication of members, in addition to the public’s unwavering support.

The unit has developed a reputation for diving excellence with particular emphasis on search and rescue/recovery – a point referenced by chairman, Dave Carey, at last weekend’s ceremony.
