Another significant milestone in the continued development of Ballyhooly Community Field took place last Friday evening with the opening of their revamped, sand-based, fully floodlit GAA pitch.

The occasion was marked with the hosting of a Cavanagh’s of Fermoy Division One Hurling League fixture, featuring the home club and Dromina – a contest that Ballyhooly won convincingly despite missing several key players.

For the record, the final score was 1-21 to 0-15. Kilworth referee, Aidan Hyland, and his officials oversaw proceedings, in what was a lively encounter, played in front of a large crowd.
