Friday evening, 4th April, is another hugely significant date in the history of Ballyhooly GAA. Operating out of the sporting and social hub that is Ballyhooly Community Field, barely a year goes by without some development or other taking place.
The club has access to 2 playing fields, one of which has suffered from underlying drainage issues. Having drawn up a detailed development plan, it was decided to completely overhaul their ‘main pitch’ by addressing the draining issues and creating a sand based surface.
As part of this development, it was also agreed to install state of the art flood lights. Both projects, which include new dugouts and electronic scoreboard, are now complete and will be officially unveiled on 4th April.
According to club chairman, Kevin Collins, it was a very significant undertaking.
