A public health service founded in Fermoy has scooped the ‘Best Response to Covid-19’ prize at the prestigious Irish Healthcare Awards this week.
The Covid-19 World Service was established by local couple Graham and Catherine Clifford in May to produce multilingual video messaging for migrants during the pandemic.
“It was clear to us from early on that while information and guidance on the virus was well presented in English and Irish the resources for other languages was relatively poor.
“And in the context of a pandemic where every single person in society is interconnected we felt something had to be done to address that for the good of all,” explained Graham Clifford, a social entrepreneur and former writer and broadcaster.
