D-day looms for Kilworth-based Palace Players as they travel to Athlone on this Friday to contest the RTE All-Ireland amateur drama finals being hosted by the Amateur Drama Council of Ireland (ADCI).
Anticipation is high, not just for the group members themselves but also for the Athlone audience as ‘The Gigli Concert’ by Tom Murphy will be the last of the nine plays to be performed.
Adjudicator Padraic McIntyre has the unenviable task of choosing a winner and he will give his result at an awards ceremony in The Radisson Hotel on Saturday night.
We wish the Palace Players the best of luck in their quest to retain the RTE trophy having won it last year with another Tom Murphy play, ‘Conversations On A Homecoming’.
