Fermoy athletes have been pulling out all the stops recently as another medal was secured, this time for rowing.
Alison Bergin of Fermoy Rowing Club bagged a silver medal after an exceptional performance at the U23 World Rowing Championships last weekend. Taking on the BW1x category, the local rower made it through to the A finals, where she upgraded last year’s bronze medal to a silver.
Olga O’Sullivan, Alison’s former coach, said that everyone at Fermoy Rowing Club is ‘delighted’ to see her securing the silver medal.
