The Sciath na Scol season is upon us – a time of year when pupils from our local national schools showcase their considerable GAA skills.
On Wednesday morning when The Avondhu were in attandance, it was action all the way in Mallow, with Ballyhooly NS getting the show on the road, thanks to a thrilling win over Mallow.
Pupils from Scoil Mhuire National School, Araglin were represented on the double by a boys' hurling team and a very accomplished camogie team.
The girls turned in a superb performance to see off the challenge of Ballyhooly. The Araglin boys were next up, hoping for what would have been a historic double.
