On 28th August, Limerick Food Partnership (LFP) launches its behind the scenes video of the creation of its Local Food Environment Dashboard. The project is one of three Safefood Community Food Initiative funded projects for LFP.
Catherine Caball, Limerick Food Partnership Coordinator, said that the dashboard ‘Connects people, places and food’.
“The dashboard creates a digital space where local food assets can be mapped, and then layered with socio-demographic layers, providing us with not only what food is available in an area but who lives in that area. It connects people, places and food. We hope the video will inspire and encourage other community groups to build similar models”.
In addition, starting on 5th October LFP will run Healthy Food Made Easy (HFME), a community cooking and nutrition programme designed to help participants improve their cooking skills, eating behaviours and nutrition knowledge. Healthy Food Made Easy is a six-week nutrition education programme developed by community dietitians for adults, with course content based on healthy eating guidelines from the Department of Health in Ireland.
