Kilworth Festival got off to a flying start last weekend and the events will continue to come thick and fast this Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Eurovision winner, Niamh Kavanagh, and her band The Illegals, were the big attraction in the marquee last Sunday night. A fine crowd attended this over 18s gig. On and off the stage, Niamh was in great form with locals doing a great job ‘selling’ Kilworth. She was impressed by the vibrancy of the village and the facilities it has to offer. Last Sunday night’s crowd were up for a good time and her choice of tunes kept the dance floor full for most the night.

On the catering front, the bar was exceptionally busy, with staff doing a super job. Across the way, the chip van looked after anyone who was feeling peckish. Professional security staff, who were on duty, had no issues to deal with and the atmosphere was upbeat and good humoured throughout.
