Peugeot 5008 leads Ireland’s large SUV segment as families flock to seven-seat comfort and safety

Peugeot Ireland is proud to announce that the Peugeot 5008 is Ireland’s best-selling large SUV (D SUV segment, YTD), as of 13th July, 2025. With sales surging 38% year-on-year, the 5008 continues to resonate with Irish families seeking the perfect combination of space, safety, and style, now with the added benefit of an electrified powertrain.

Available in efficient hybrid and all-electric variants, the Peugeot 5008 is proving its appeal across a broad range of drivers. In fact, in 2025, one in four 5008 buyers has chosen the electric version (making it the best-selling electric 7-seater model in Ireland), a clear sign of the growing appetite for zero-emissions motoring without compromising on space or versatility.

Ireland’s Favourite Family SUV – Key Highlights:

  • True 7-Seater Flexibility – three individual second-row seats and two fully foldable third-row seats provide outstanding modularity.
  • Generous Boot Capacity – up to 916 litres with the third row folded down.
  • Choice of Powertrains – hybrid or fully electric (with 502km WLTP range), supporting lower running costs and reduced emissions.
  • Peugeot i-Cockpit® – intuitive and stylish interior with compact steering wheel, digital instrument panel, and a Panoramic 21” HD curved display.
  • Family-Focused Features – including Tri-zone automatic air conditioning, advanced infotainment, integrated sunblinds in rear doors, hands-free boot opening (some features listed are unique to the GT trim) and a full suite of driver assistance systems.

Top Marks for Child Safety

Safety is a top priority for families, and the Peugeot 5008 delivers. In the latest Euro NCAP tests, the 5008 scored maximum points for child protection in both frontal offset and side barrier impact scenarios. The tests showed good protection for all critical body areas, underlining the 5008’s credentials as one of the safest SUVs for younger passengers.

The Peugeot 5008 also stands out for its competitive pricing, with both the hybrid and fully electric versions starting from just €50,995 (from €393 per month on PCP finance).

Alan Kilroy, Managing Director at Gowan Auto (Peugeot Importer in Ireland), commented: “The Peugeot 5008 continues to set the standard for what Irish families need: space, safety, technology, and now, a strong mix of hybrid and electric options. It’s a true all-rounder that’s become the natural choice in the large SUV segment.”
