Disappointment as camogie players await reschedule of Munster final

As of Tuesday Camogie players were still unaware as to whether they would get to play the Munster Senior Hurling final, after the game was deferred following controversy surrounding skorts.

Ahead of the game, Waterford and Cork players took a stance, to state that they would both be wearing shorts, in contravention of existing rules. Scheduled to take place at Tipperary County Camogie Grounds, The Ragg at 1pm on Saturday last, the game was deferred by the committee in charge of the championship.

Speaking this week, Lorraine Bray, former captain of Waterford Camogie team and Cappoquin player, said that the Waterford team were ‘very disappointed’ with the news. “It was very disappointing. The last few weeks, Waterford and Cork have been gearing up and getting ready, preparing ourselves for what is a massive game,” she said.
