
“The town is suffering big time. Fermoy is now becoming what Macroom was before the new bypass was put there,” Cllr William O’Leary stated.
Fermoy’s traffic issues again got an airing at a meeting of the Northern Committee on Tuesday, as although it was not included within the roads report issued by the executive, Cllr O’Leary said it should be, as he claimed that it is currently the ‘biggest issue’ being raised with him by constituents.
Previously, Mr O’Leary had requested a feasibility study be carried out to see what could be done about traffic congestion in the town.
