Many of the world’s best stallions will be on show for the ITM Irish Stallion Trail, to be held on Friday, January 10 and Saturday, January 11, 2025, with several local studs opening their doors to the public.

Irish sires have again shone on the international stage in 2024 and the Trail offers the opportunity for breeders, racing professionals and racing fans to see them up close at over thirty of Ireland’s stallion farms.

Over 30 stallion farms participate in the Trail, including Castlehyde, Rathbarry & Glenview, Coolmore, Grange Stud, The Beeches Stud, Derrinstown, Irish National Stud, Kildangan, Rathasker and many more.

A completely free event, intending visitors are simply asked to register which studs they intend to visit via the ITM website. Visitors are then free to visit their chosen studs at the time of their choosing within the studs’ advertised opening hours.

ITM CEO Charles O’Neill commented: “Across the world Irish stallions are recognised among the global elite and continually produce winners in racing’s most competitive events on the flat and over jumps. In 2025 the Irish stallion roster will once again be boosted with more top talent, offering breeders a diverse pool of proven producers, rising stars, and hot prospects to suit any mare or budget. The ITM Irish Stallion Trail is always a highlight of the year for breeders and fans alike and we are very grateful to participating farms for opening their doors and showcasing Ireland’s exceptional thoroughbred breeding industry. Register now via the ITM website and we will see you on the Trail.”

Due to demand, it is mandatory to register for a specific date and time slot if planning to visit Coolmore Stud. Please note that due to evolving stallion vaccination and quarantine requirements, participating studs and available stallions may be subject to change.
