Ballygiblin’s Eoin Lynch is enjoying newfound fame after his interview at this year’s Ploughing Championships, as his enthusiasm for slurry, went viral across social media platforms.
The young man is now famous all the way from Rathaniska in Co Laois to South Africa, and has no intention of letting any opportunities slip through his fingers.
First of all, and despite many querying otherwise, the accent is genuine. As a ‘three counties’ man (locals will well be aware that Ballygiblin straddles Cork, Limerick and Tipperary), Eoin’s dulcet tones may seem overdone to more delicate ears but he denies any theatrics are involved!
Since featuring on Agriland’s online feed, his TikTok following has hit over 21.4k and speaking with The Avondhu this week, the young farmer reveals what most people are curious about.
“A lot of people are asking about my ethnicity, about where I’m from. I’m from Vietnam but I’m living in Ireland since I was six months old. My accent is not put on; it gets thicker when I’m excited though! I don’t mind getting asked about it; I get it, and I try to get back to anyone who asks”.
