Concerns have been raised locally about the ‘confined space’ that Ukrainians are living in, having recently moved to Tallow.
33 Ukrainians recently moved to the area and are being accommodated in a privately owned property which was recently converted into apartments at The Square in the town’s main street.
News of the arrival of Ukrainian families in Tallow follows as previously mooted plans for the development of modular homes in the area are now understood to be withdrawn.
Plans for as many as 44 modular homes at a site located near the funeral home in Tallow which was intended to house refugees, it is believed, are no longer being considered due to costs.
At the time that Ukrainian families moved to the area, a ‘lack of communication’ and ‘lack of engagement’ was reported, as Waterford City and County Council were not made aware of the plans.
