The James Meaney Hurling Wall was officially opened in front of a large crowd at Glanworth GAA grounds last Sunday morning at 11.30am.
James Meaney passed away from leukaemia at the age of 21 in June 2018. He played hurling with Glanworth GAA, as well as being a member of Mitchelstown Rugby Club.
Present to officially open the wall was Glanworth GAA Club Chairman, Stephen Dunne, a close friend, schoolmate, teammate and neighbour, who “spoke from the heart” about James’ time with the club.
James’ father John Meaney, who was also present with family, thanked the club for the many years that James had associations with the club as a player, mentor and worker.
