Ballyhooly sportswoman Leah Lyons, gave an inspirational response on her Twitter page to insults she overheard from a man in the stadium in Donnybrook last Sunday.
The international women’s rugby star posted a heartfelt message in reaction to the insults.
“Poor choice of wording from a man in the crowd (Irish) yesterday… ‘Heifer’ in relating to myself… you're seated 3 rows away from my family who heard you and surrounded by young children girls and boys who are all shapes and sizes.” (sic)
She continued by putting forward a message to stamp out that type of behaviour by saying, “Rugby is a game for all! No one is perfect and I realise I’m an example of that, but have a bit of respect! …”
