A tractor run in memory of the late Maurice Foley takes place in Araglin on Sunday, 25th September. Family man, farmer and footballer, Maurice died much too young as a result of an accident.
An organisation called, Embrace Farm, provide a range of services to the families of those who suffer serious or fatal injuries in farm accidents and it’s fitting they should benefit financially from the forthcoming run.
Brú Columbanus was also exceptionally good to the Foley family following their loss and they too will receive part of the proceeds – Brú Columbanus offer accommodation to families who have a loved one in any of the Cork hospitals.
The run departs Araglin Community Field at 11.30am on Sunday 25th September and any model of tractor, car or motorcycle is welcome to take part. Registration is €20. The route takes in Araglin, Ballyporeen and Clogheen with vehicles returning via Doon (Araglin).
Leading the convoy of vehicles will be Maurice’s favourite tractor, his Massey Ferguson 135 which has been lovingly restored by Maurice’s brother, Denis.
Members of the Foley and Kenneally families are grateful to everyone who is assisting with the run, most notably, family members, the communities of Araglin and Ballyduff, An Garda Siochana and the indispensable local volunteers who always turn out to help.
