After years of hard work and canvassing by Kildorrery, Mitchelstown, Kilworth and Glanworth angling clubs, a plan was put in place at a public meeting last week to tackle pollution on the River Funcheon.

Sixty-six people attended the meeting and 30 of those agreed to become part of a newly established Catchment Management Forum, which will implement a three year plan to improve water quality on the river.

Chairperson of Kildorrery Angling Club David Lee, said he was delighted with the progress at the meeting. He is looking forward to the water quality improving on the river and the benefit this will have for the wider community.
