It’s a constant challenge for treasurers of GAA clubs to ensure the necessary finance is in place to cover the very substantial expense associated with preparing teams.
With this in mind, securing a main sponsor is always a welcome development.
Following on from successful negotiations, east Cork club, Castlelyons has secured a significant sponsorship deal with Zeus Packaging Group – a world leader with it comes to the manufacture of paper and plastic packaging.
Employing 275 in Ireland, England, Spain, Poland and China it lists the likes of Greencore, Harrods and Cadbury among its clients.
Company CEO, Brian O’Sullivan was in Castlelyons Community Centre last Friday night to formally announce the link up.
Mr. O’Sullivan said that Zeus Packaging Group and Castlelyons GAA were a good fit – he expressed the hope that this sponsorship arrangement would be mutually beneficial.
Club chairman, John Healy thanked Brian and his company for their financial commitment – it was very important in terms of club development he said.
The occasion doubled as a medals presentation to last year’s victorious east Cork U21 football champions.
Refreshments were served and an audio visual presentation was given by Kieran McGann.
