“We’re not going back until we get what we want”

Secretaries and caretakers at many local schools, such as CBS primary and secondary, Bunscoil na Toirbhirte and Presentation Secondary schools in Mitchelstown, continue to demand their right to equal treatment and pension inclusion.

Speaking to The Avondhu this week was Kate Lennon, secretary of Ballindangan NS, who gave her thoughts on why she has been behind the picket line this week and what now needs to be done. 

“All the other staff get fair payment and are included in a good pension, why aren’t we entitled to it?” she asked.
