Irish Water are due to begin works this week to replace an old and damaged water mains in Castlecooke, Kilworth.
There have been frequent outages on the Castlecooke supply due to the age and poor condition of the water mains network, with an average of 11 bursts per year in recent years.
To address this, the existing supply at Castlecooke is to be replaced with a new connection to the nearby Macroney Water Supply Scheme.
The works are due to continue all summer long right up until late August but Irish Water have promised residents that there will be minimal disruption to supply and local access.
