The recent installation of bollards on the R639 approach to Watergrasshill from the Rathcormac direction has been met with mixed reaction within the local community, with many claiming that they pose a danger to motorists in the area.
Speaking with The Avondhu, local woman Ber Desmond said that the bollards, ‘which seemingly appeared overnight’, are deadly dangerous and are likely to cause an accident.
“Normally when you’re going on to the road from that junction, you would drive on the inside of where the bollards are to turn in off the road. If somebody isn’t aware of them, there is going to be a crash,” Ber said.
