New Minister of State for Mental Health and Older People, Mary Butler is viewing her recent appointment as a ‘unique opportunity’ to create change for vulnerable sectors of society.
“As the Taoiseach said when I got the call, this is a very weighty brief and will require a lot of hard work and attention to detail,” Deputy Butler said.
Continuing, the Minister added: “It is not every day in life, or even politics, that you are appointed to a position by which you can make decisions which have the potential to affect real people.
“I am determined to make the most of what is a unique opportunity to positively improve the lives of people who are suffering and vulnerable, and the families behind them.”
