Gardai have appealed for the public’s help in finding the owners of 10 dogs found during a raid on suspected dog thieves in Limerick. 

A spate of dog thefts have been reported across the country and in The Avondhu region – just last week an owner in Carrignavar got his pet back.

Now gardai have found dogs in an intelligence led operation targeting dog thieves in Rathkeale.

It follows garda reports of a slight rise in the instances of dognapping. 

At 7pm on August 1, Gardaí from Newcastle West District Drugs Unit, assisted by Rathkeale gardaí and Limerick City and County Council's veterinary services and dog wardens, executed a search warrant at a property in the Rathkeale area. ….
