Walker Hearing Clinics, a Cork-based independent audiology practice led by husband and wife team Graham and Amy Walker, has been supporting patients across Cork for a decade. You can find them at the Fermoy Primary Care Centre along with two other clinics, in the The Weir Clinic in Bandon, and the Consultants Private Clinic at Cork University Hospital.
Additionally, a new clinic is due to open in College Road Consulting Rooms later this year, directly opposite the Bon Secours Hospital.
Walker Hearing Clinics provides a full range of audiological services, including comprehensive diagnostic hearing assessments, earwax removal, hearing aid fittings, and custom hearing protection.

As part of their commitment to accessible hearing care, their team is encouraging people to check their entitlement under the Treatment Benefit Scheme, which offers financial support towards hearing aids for those with sufficient PRSI contributions.
Under the scheme, eligible patients can receive a free pair of hearing aids, or €500 towards a single hearing aid or €1,000 towards a pair. This contribution can be used against a wide range of modern hearing aids, including discreet, rechargeable models.
Many people are unaware that they qualify for the scheme, or assume it only applies at retirement age. In reality, employees, the self-employed and some retirees may all be eligible, depending on their PRSI record. You may also be eligible depending on your spouse’s PRSI contributions.
Walker Hearing Clinics can check eligibility directly with the Department of Social Protection and guide patients through the process, with no obligation to proceed with treatment.
