Volunteers urgently needed

23 local hospice volunteers were honoured at a special ceremony in The Mansion House in Dublin recently for their dedication to hospice care in Ireland. RTE’s Mary Kennedy made a special presentation to ‘Hospice Heroes’, who give tirelessly of their time to bring vital hospice services to communities across the country. Ms Kennedy also announced details of national Hospice Sunflower Days, which celebrates its 27th anniversary this year takes place on Friday, June 9th and Saturday, 10th. Marymount University Hospital and Hospice urgently needs volunteers to support its Sunflower Days (Friday, June 9 and Saturday 10). 

“If you can help on the days, please get in touch,” Paula McGovern, Head of Fundraising and Communications with Marymount said. “But please don’t forget to buy your sunflowers on the day at any of our collections. Alternatively, you can text Marymount to 50300 to donate €4 – a minimum of €3.25 goes to Marymount.”
