A number of volunteers from the Hillwalking Community Radio Group have trained as Cardiac First Responders.
The group who provide Emergency Radio Communications for many of the outdoor events on and around the Galtee Mountains, attended the course on December 1.
The course was partially funded by Limerick County Council under the Community Enhancement Programme and Tesco Community Fund, and was delivered by St John Ambulance paramedics.
Long time Hillwalking Community Radio Group volunteer Denny O’Dwyer, said the course further enhances the radio group's capabilities by implementing the chain of survival and applying care set down by the Pre-Hospital Care Council.
“We would like to thank everyone who supported our 'Ramble in The Glen' fundraising walk and especially those who have donated their Blue Tesco tokens to us,” added Denny.
