‘Vigil’ mounts outside Abbeyville House as FAMAD call for a stop to protests and ‘division’

A 24/7 watch has been set up outside Abbeyville House by those who attended public meetings in relation to the upcoming arrival of International Protection Applicants to the building.

Outside the building, located just off Brian Boru Square in the town, those in opposition to the use of Abbeyville House as accommodation for such purposes have erected a tent along with camping chairs and other essential items as they mounted their ‘vigil’.

At a recent public meeting held outside Abbeyville House, calls for a blockade of the building were made in an attempt to disallow those arriving at Abbeyville House from entering the building.
