The events of 2018 can now be referred to in the past tense as revellers throughout the region, said 'adieu' to the old year and embraced the new at a variety of events on Monday night.
While there's undoubtedly a trend towards more house parties on New Year's Eve, many still look forward to visiting their local and ringing in the New Year among colleagues and friends.
Locally, pubs enjoyed a good Christmas and New Year, with most establishments providing music as they counted down the final hours and minutes of 2018.
