A big crowd, a huge occasion and a massive win for Watergrasshill’s hurlers, who claimed this year’s Co-Op Superstores Premier Intermediate hurling title in SuperValu Páirc Uí Rinn last Sunday afternoon.

Made to fight every step of the way by a dogged Carrigaline outfit, there was no doubting the Hill were the better team over the hour. Yet another stellar performance by former St. Colman’s College, Fermoy star, Daire O’Leary, a man of the match showing by number 11, Adam Murphy and a brilliant second goal by Captain Fantastic, Sean Desmond, paved the way for a famous win that will see the men from the ‘satellite town’ play Senior A hurling next year.
