Five classes who enrolled in Ballyhooly National School during the years 1970 to 1975 were back together in Ballyhooly Community Centre last Saturday night for a well organised and thoroughly enjoyable reunion.

The 70s may not be in the mists of time, however, Ireland has changed dramatically in the interim and those fresh faced boys and girls who walked through the doors of the ‘old school’ 45 years ago have all gone on to lead fruitful and productive lives.

In keeping with the occasion, it was the past and not the present or future that dominated discussion at last Saturday’s get together.

The revamped community centre which is a short distance from the site of the old national school was delightfully presented for visitors. Having settled in and enjoyed a glass of wine…
