Uisce Éireann is reported to be making ‘tremendous progress’ as works got underway this week to consolidate the Killavullen Public Water Supply with Mallow Public Water Supply.
This comes after the local village was put under a Boil Water Notice on May 2, 2022, and remained so until short-term upgrade works at the reservoir and treatment plant were carried out – the notice was finally lifted in March of this year.
Locals in the area were forced to purchase water, with some even installing water filtration systems in their homes due to the lengthy Boil Water Notice, which was issued due to high levels of turbidity in the borehole supply, affecting some 810 customers.
