Carraig na bhFear Drama Group will stage 'The Maiden Aunt', a three act comedy by Jimmy Keary for five nights commencing end of February and beginning of March: Friday 22nd, Saturday 23rd February, Friday 1st, Saturday 2nd and Sunday, 3rd March. The curtain goes up each night at 8.30pm and admission includes cheese and wine at the interval.

The cast includes Louise Geaney, Margaret Dinan, Liam Spillane, Richard Forde, Tadhg Manley, Naomi Nolan and Denis O'Connor. It is jointly produced by Denis Begley and Dan Twomey.

The story revolves around Gertie O’Grady, a retired schoolteacher and spinster who comes to stay with her niece, Mary Murphy after a spell in hospital. Mary tries to persuade her aunt to make a will but Gertie is unimpressed by the welcome she receives - the less than tactful and 'degenerate' farm hand Francie, Mary and Dan’s lazy son John Paul who frightens the Aunt with his hair-brained ideas on raising cash and Mary’s inability to cool Dan’s never ending 'ardour'. Posh neighbour Caroline Quinn and solicitor Paula Moore add another dimension to this production, along with John Paul’s friend Jarlath. This play is filled with enough twists and turns, laughter and mayhem to keep any audience entertained

Tickets from: Mace Supermarket 021-4884618 or Liam on 087-2313409.
