In a former walled garden, located just off the community field in Rathcormac, the local Men’s Shed group welcomed the public to view their grounds as ‘The Hideaway’ was officially opened and blessed on Friday last.

The group, which first formed in February 2023, have had a busy time readying the site for their needs and preparing it for the demands of the Men’s Shed, and with the rain holding off on the day, all were welcomed along to join in the celebrations.

“We decided we would have an open invite to everybody and anybody that could come along to see The Hideaway for themselves and to enjoy what we have here. There is a lot of talk and a lot of buzz around the parish about the Men’s Shed so it’s an opportunity to give everyone a chance to see what we have and meet the members of the Men’s Shed,” said Dan Dooley, a founding member of the group.
