Taoiseach cuts ribbon on re-vamped BCS

Blackwater Community School in Lismore celebrated a momentous occasion on Friday last, September 19th, as the new school building and sports campus was officially opened. 

Taoiseach Micheál Martin, joined the school community to cut the ribbon on the new €14 million development, catering for almost 1,000 students. Providing twice the footprint of the previous school building, the new development features numerous classrooms, an all-weather pitch, sports field, recreational areas, a new sports hall and much more.

Speaking at the opening, Declan Doocey, former chairperson of the board of management, who served in the position for over two decades, said that he was humbled to witness the opening of the new  building.
