This Friday (29th May) will see Seamus Moran bring his one man show 'Have A Heart', to Friars’ Gate Theatre, Kilmallock.

Seamus would be well known to audience’s from his long standing role as cafe owner Mike in 'Fair City'. In 'Have A Heart', Seamus plays a man who has recently had a heart transplant and thinks that his new heart is talking to him. Is he going insane, suffering side-effects from the medication or could this really be happening? When his new heart persuades him to embark on a major quest, his life and his world are turned upside down and inside out.

Mrs Shakespeare

On Friday, 12th June, Friars’ Gate hosts the acclaimed 'Mrs Shakespeare' starring Irene Kelleher.

William Shakespeare finds himself reincarnated in the present day as a woman, which makes it all the more difficult to convince people she/he is 'the Great Bard'. The Globe and the RSC refuse point blank to stage her modern history plays such as Hitler the First and Charles the Third (Not). Frustrated by this lack of recognition, Mrs Shakespeare winds up in a mental asylum, and comes to the conclusion she has made a complete mess of writing ‘Hamlet’ four hundred years earlier.

Tickets for both shows are just €12/€10. Bookings on 063-98727 or www.friarsgate.ie.
