St. George’s Arts & Heritage Centre in Mitchelstown was full to capacity last Saturday night for a festive performance by the award winning Fermoy International Choir. A wonderful advert for multi cultural society, the choir, under the baton of Lisa Dunphy and accompanied by Deirdre Foley, put on a super show.

The centre was beautifully decorated, with volunteers on hand to assist with the serving of generous refreshments. In his address, Bill Power acknowledged the talent of the choir, the generosity of the crowd and the busy 2024 that St. George’s had enjoyed. He made a special point of congratulating local community activist, Kay Dawson, on being co-opted to Cork County Council, following the election of her Fine Gael colleague, Noel McCarthy to Dáil Eireann. Bill described Kay as a tireless advocate for the town and its environs.

MUSIC, REFRESHMENTS & RAFFLE
The raffle is an important component for event organisers and patrons dug deep to assist. A variety of attractive prizes were distributed.
