The annual Sunflower Day at Corrin Nature Reserve, outside Fermoy, took place last Sunday. There was a steady flow of visitors from 11am, with most electing to enjoy the refreshments and entertainment laid on. Talented musician, Willie Collins, put on a great show and his music proved ideal for the large number of dancers in attendance – the dancing platform was a new innovation this year and proved very successful.
The catering tent was extremely busy and with plenty of seating, patrons were able to relax and unwind in near perfect conditions. John Howard and his dedicated team of volunteers were also kept going and thanks to good organisation, the event ran very smoothly. For some, it was their first time visiting the reserve, which is maintained year round.
Organisers wish to express thanks to all the musicians who entertained on the day and to everybody for turning up. Also, thanks to anybody that helped in any way on the day, from providing car parking facilities to stewards and all the fabulous helpers with teas, baking, etc and all other preparations.
