It isn’t the hair that makes a person a hero, it’s the heart. Two St Fanahan’s College Transition Year students, Emma Casey and Molly O’Sullivan, showed us this when they decided to donate their hair to the Rapunzel Foundation, a charitable organization that works to improve the lives of those living with hair loss through fundraising and the collection of pony tails for the manufacture of natural hair wigs. The girls each donated 14 inches of their hair to make wigs for those who have suffered hair loss as a result of cancer, apolecia etc.    

It was a decision Molly and Emma made a long time ago and have been growing their hair in preparation ever since.

“We were anxious to do it but you can’t just wake up one day and decide to donate your hair”, Emma said. “It took a long time to grow but we’re very glad we did it and we would encourage others to do the same.”
